This is Part 15 in our NYC personal injury video series: “If I’m involved in a lawsuit, do I have to testify in court?”
Transcript:
That depends. Not necessarily. In court we have what’s called depositions. That’s more of an informal proceeding. However, there is a court reporter who takes everything down. That is a process that I would be walking you through. I would be going through what the questions were going to be, and your answers, in advance, so that you would not be nervous for that proceeding. Once you have a deposition, the case proceeds to the end. It can go on the trial calendar or it can be settled.
